Δύο δρομείς περνούν από ποτάμια, δάση και φαράγγια σε μια διαδρομή γεμάτη φυσικό κάλλος. Δύο οργανοπαίκτες, πανέτοιμοι για πεντοζάλη. Τι σχέση έχουν όλα αυτά;

“Shepherd’s Trail” mountain bike in Pindos

A short video about mountain biking in the cordillera of Pindos and the last shepherd’s in the surrounding area of Valia kalda’s National Reserve. All footage’s, taken in a 4 day trip to this amazing place, with Montis Ordo’s, Alex Petroutsos and his bicycle and the sequences are driving you to the summit of Avgo, the Flegga lake and the wonderful forests of Valia Kalda and at the end at the downhills of Vovousa village.

All videos footage’s taken with Canon DSLR system manually with the help of a jib crane, tripod and monopods and with additional help by a Gopro HD2.

As regards the music, with respect to the culture and the local environment I had to choose something that combine the traditional music with rock music, Villagers of Ioannina City is the group that reflects that feeling.

Special thanks to our shepherd, Panos Apostolinas for his hospitality in this amazing place and in more special thanks to our guest riders, Giorgos Stamoulis and Andreas Tsanaksidis for the help of this realisation.

and last, I want to thanks Alex for his patient….!!!

Tzoumerka Mountains (Video)

Athamania Mountains or Tzoumerka are located in Epirus, Greece, and are home to some of the most beautiful sceneries and landscapes, history and traditional arts. They are an alternative destination, which offers opportunities like rafting, canyoning, climbing and many beautiful paths for hiking, and also a lot of summer nights full of folk music.

We Are What We Eat: Crete

Photographer Matthieu Paley journeyed to Crete last year and brought back dozens of stories, recipes and experiences from this ancient island.

The people living on the Greek island of Crete love their wine and eat a rich variety of foods drawn from their groves, farms, and the sea. Photographer Matthieu Paley captures the joyful people that have lived on the Mediterranean diet long before it became a fad.

Photo by @paleyphoto (Matthieu Paley). Most of us see it as #grass, but 80 something Vangelio sees it as food, lots of it. I was amazed at how people in rural Crete can just head out into nature and identify "horta", wild #greens – as many as 40 different types. Later, Vangelio made delicious Kalitsounia : small pies filled with these super healthy wild herbs. Next time you go for a walk in the park, have an eye out, you might be stepping on wild fenugreek, orrel, hartwort, chicory, wild carrot, nettle, mallow, borage, chickweed or parsley! Even clover is delicious to add to a #salad : its sourness can replace lemon juice. A bit of knowledge will definitely add spice to your life… I am in #Greece looking at the #Mediterranean Diet, for part 5 of my @natgeo story on the Evolution of diet – how we are what we ate – coming out in September. #food #latergram #evolutionofdiet @thephotosociety @natgeocreative
